Description
91 points, Wine Spectator. The 2009 Giana Zinfandel follows on the heels of a 93 point score (2008), and continues to be our wine fan favorite! As always, the fruit profile is forward mix of red and blue berries, followed by spicier tones. The aromatics remain true to previous vintages with notes of cloves, cinnamon and cardamom. This vineyard is named after my youngest daughter, Giana, and farmed like a cabernet for high quality not high yield. Zinfandel is my very favorite food varietal, so I drink Giana Zin with everything from red-sauce pastas to grilled meats & smoky BBQ, and occasionally, all by itself!
