Eileen 2009

"The 2009 Eileen shows focus and length...a beautiful, explosive Cabernet to drink. These are decidedly flashy, ripe Cabernets." - Robert Parker, 92 Pts

Eileen | Cabernet Sauvignon | Napa Valley

Named for Michael's wife, the Eileen Cabernet is our flagship estate wine, produced from our sustainably-farmed vineyards in St. Helena.  Grace Clone/Clone 7, on 101-14 rootstock; aged 20 months in mostly new French oak from Taransaud and Darnajou cooperages. Gorgeous balance, medium-body, and elegant rounded tannins, are evidence of a cool-climate vintage.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2009 offers Cab aficionados plenty of power, weight and length. Its full of classic dark red fruit and spice, for a very full-bodied mid-palate. The finely delineated core of cherry and blackberry is followed by an elegant finish.
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Eileen shows more focus and length than the Bambino. Sweet spices, grilled herbs, blackberries and tobacco are some of the notes that flow from this Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a beautiful, explosive Cabernet to drink over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. - (92 Pts) Robert Parker Jr, Wine Advocate.
