Felicia | Old Vine Zinfandel | Napa Valley
Named for Michael's middle daughter (of three in total), the Felicia is Michael's favorite all-around food wine is also our rarest production. This Old Vine Zinfandel block of our vineyard holds for him the love of a favored grandmother.
For the 2010 vintage we only made four barrels, and due to the multiple varietals planted over 100-years ago, there isn't another Zinfandel like it. The nose is very floral with white flowers, honeysuckle, black currant and sage. Red and black fruits dominate the palate with some dusty Zinfandel tannin and acidity adding both power and zip to the long finish, a bold reminder of why Michael just can't resist farming these historic old vines. Incredible depth and complexity. Black fruit, cola, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel and cloves.

Located in St. Helena, Chiarello Vineyards estate consists of 20 acres of pre-Prohibition era vineyards, mostly dry-farmed with organic and sustainable practices. The Felicia vineyard comprises century-old Zinfandel vines on original rootstocks in loam soils.
Thomas Rivers Brown, Winemaker. All CFV grapes are vinified, cellared and bottled at Outpost Winery on Howell Mountain, Napa Valley. Felicia Zinfandel spends 14 months aging in 50% New French Oak barrels, from Taransaud, Darnajou, and Saury cooperages.
